Each week we do some writing in class. Sometimes it is a story and sometimes it is research. When we do research there are many ways to share that research. Teagan and her friend Emma chose to share their dolphin and whale research in a play. It is researched and written by them. They also designed their own costumes.

new sink
For Christmas Jeff got money toward a new sink. It was desperately needed because our other one was rusted and falling apart at the front. Did I mention that the drains were raised so it didn't drain properly? It needed to be replaced when we moved in but waited because it could.
This vacation Jeff was able to replace the sink. Of course it turned out to be quite a bit more difficult that originally anticipated, but with only minor injuries and a full day's work, we have a new sink!

Happy Valentine's Day
Valentine's Day started a bit rough but ended great. Teagan was sick enough on Friday to stay home from school. When her Motrin wore off and her fever was 105 she and I headed off to the doctor. It turned out she had strep throat. One last dose of Motrin and starting on her antibiotics got everything under control but she was still not feeling 100% on Saturday.
Even feeling a bit sluggish, Teagan was thrilled to participate in a breakfast of yummy waffles made by Daddy followed by a scavenger hunt to find a present of a couple of books and coupons for some special treats (popcorn and a movie, making cookies with Mom, choose dinner, an extra bedtime story, etc.) Braeden actually got stuck on a clue...the first time we have been able to stump him in 4 years of Valentine's scavenger hunts! He found his bag quickly even so.
Later in the afternoon we decorated cookies.

Teagan's Recital
Teagan had her first piano recital at school today. She was thrilled for the week prior, nervous yesterday, and did great today. She practiced her two songs quite a bit and it showed! She played Mary Had A Little Lamb and Lightly Row.
Mary Had A Little Lamb. I start the video a couple seconds into the song--my problem, not hers!
Lightly Row. First she learns with her right hand, then her left, then she puts them together.
