dinner and a concert

We had our friends Ginger, Sarah, Kate, and Alexander, and their friend Rosemary over to dinner along with Tzu Hsien who has been visiting all of July and working with both Jeff and Cheryl.
After a yummy dinner we enjoyed an impromptu concert. Braeden entertained us with the recorder while the others played the piano for us.

Circus Smirkus

We got to see Circus Smirkus at Heritage Museums and Gardens. We all had a great time--the performers are all kids who only practice together for 3 weeks before they begin a 70 performance tour in New England!

Now Teagan wants to go to circus camp next summer!

Beach

Morning at the beach with Eli, Gretchen, Steve, and Caroline. The kids had a great time making castles with the great toys Gretchen brought.

The kids also buried themselves up to their knees which gave them some new leaning abilities.

Barnstable County Fair

We spent a few days just at home letting Teagan recover from her tonsillectomy and watch as much Hannah Montana as she could handle. The rest of us were done with Hannah well before she was!

Then Gretchen and Eli came to visit with their friends Steve and Caroline. We had so much fun with them--we spent most of the time hanging out and going to the beach but also found time for the fair and dinner at the farm.

Bye bye tonsils!

Teagan was so brave having her tonsils out! We got to the hospital at 6:45 when she got ready and met with Dr. Gordon, her surgeon, Dr. Wade her anesthesiologist, and her two nurses. She chose bubble gum flavor for her anesthesia.
I got to go into the room with her until she went under. I got to wear this beautiful outfit! Dr. Wade took a picture of us after explaining everything to Teagan and to her stuffed cat, Cinnamon.

Now she will need to stay quiet and not overexert herself for three weeks!

A Cape Cod meal

After a day of all going different directions--Jeff, Braeden, and Teagan to camp, Cheryl to tutor, and John and Sarah to the National Seashore, we were happy to have dinner together.
We made some Cape Cod food for Sarah and John. Steamers, which Cheryl fixed for the first time, and Cape Cod beer.
A bowl of steamers--steamed clams.

Teagan, Sarah, Braeden, John, and Jeff all trying the dinner.

Teagan was unsure to begin with and not a big fan of the steamers.

The next day Braeden, Teagan, and Cheryl went to the Edward Gorey House with John and Sarah, then off to swimming lessons and piano for Teagan and Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince for Braeden, Cheryl, and Braeden's friend Noah. The movie was great and not too crowded for opening day (it was playing on 3 screens). We wrapped up the day together again to enjoy burritos and brownies as requested by Teagan. Her last real food choices for a couple of weeks.

Goodbye Meeps and Santoros

Meeps and the Santoros had to head back to Virginia, but not until after lunch. We all headed to Sammy Legos (as Braeden used to call Sam Diego's). A delicious lunch was had by all and Braeden made quite a dent in the all you can eat taco bar.

Good bye hugs! Teagan got and gave good bye hugs as well, but behind the photographer.

Fun Family Monday

Lisa, Logan, Riley, Meeps, John, Sarah, Braeden, Teagan, and Cheryl all headed off to the Cape Cod Potato Chip Factory tour in the morning so that we could see how those yummy things are made.
Then we went to Teagan's swimming lessons at the lake where everyone played and had a great time.

Coonamessett Farm

Sarah and John Wright have joined us for a few days. We immediately went to the farm to see the school, visit the animals, and get some ice cream.
Off to see the alpacas!
Logan and ice cream--since his mom had stayed home we just let him have a good time eating and not worrying about staying at all neat.
We gave Braeden the camera for awhile!
