Kids' Races

Braeden and Teagan joined the kids' races at the Friends of Gateway race day. Gateway provides gifted and talented classes and activities in the Barnstable schools.
On the bleachers.
Teagan starting the race for 6-9 year olds.
She ran half a lap and came in second place!
Braeden about to start the race for 10-12 year olds. He was the only person there, but some of the younger kids ran with him.
Starting the race.
Braeden was way ahead of everyone as he went around the final bend of the track.
Teagan finished a strong second!
We tried to go for ice cream to celebrate, but it was already closed. The Penny Candy counter at the 1865 Country Store was a welcome treat though!

SMEAF Carnival

SMEAF had its first ever carnival this year. We held it after school with all the students and parents invited. It seemed as if most of them came!
Liz offered face painting.
The crowds start to arrive.
Pinching pennies from bowls of J-ello.

The cupcake walk was a huge hit! We went through over 200 cupcakes in the 2 hours!

Summer's Last Hurrah at the Bean's

The Bean's had a Bring Your Own Lobster end of summer bash. We all brought something else to share so there was a huge feast. The company was great, the weather terrific, and the food wonderful! The party was planned to end at 4, but we left "early" at 8!
Jim, Sadie, Paris, Nikki, and Jeff enjoying the lobster.
Miles, Braeden, and CJ playing games in and out of the pool.
Christine, Natalie, Susan, Cheryl, Nikki, Regina, and Piper, with Braeden and CJ lurking in the background.

Nikki and Johnny's 7th dativersary.

Chris provided evening music.
Nikki and Jim brought out the lighter apps to recognize Chris' playing.
It quickly became a geek fest to see who had the coolest apps or the fastest fingers to download the newest one. Jeff and I didn't even have our phones by the pool--we are still in the 20th century :)

A Lobster for Labor Day celebration at the Bean's all day was so much fun!

Ten teeth out

Teagan had to have 10 teeth pulled. He adult teeth were too crowded in her jaw to push the baby teeth out as well as causing her pain. Dr. Lane decided to take them all out in one swoop.
A full of teeth smile in the morning. We had her requested pancakes for breakfast.
Just after returning home. The procedure took less than an hour and Teagan was so brave. She was nervous going in, but they explained everything to her again and she followed directions so well. She was a model patient!
Movies, rest, and ice were the plan for the afternoon.
Later in the day she was all smiles and no teeth! Hopefully she is feeling as well tomorrow, but movies, ice, and rest will still be the plan for the day.
Dr. Lane gave her a prescription for ice cream for dinner, so that is what she happily had. Mom and Dad said she needed some water along with her ice cream.

Abbie and Gwennie sleep over

Abbie and Gwennie slept over last night. All three girls had a great time, but woke up at 5 am!
Waffles for breakfast.
The girls.
We went to Coonamessett Farm and saw the baby donkey (7 days old).
We picked blackberries.
They made themselves up to be witches.
