Siesta Key

We went to Siesta Key today with Sarah, Todd, and Kade.  I spent so much time here as a kid that it always feels a bit like home.  It was fun to take the kids to the beach and play where Sarah and I used to play when we were kids.  Of course, we also went to Anna's for lunch and Big Olaf's for ice cream!
Enjoying the cones at Big Olaf's.
Flat Stanley had some of our Anna's lunch.  It had moved again, but Sarah and I were able to name all 5 locations in order.  We didn't get anything for it :(

Woke up in St. Pete to beautiful weather!
Bill, Bessie, Sarah, Todd, and Kade came over to greet us and go swimming.  It was our first time meeting Kade and he was as much fun as we thought he would be!

Going to Florida

We flew through Chicago on our way to Florida--doesn't make much sense, but it did get us there!  We got in at midnight, but renting the car was quick and easy and the kids were great!
Flat Stanley came with us so we could tell Riley's class about Cape Cod and Florida.

Brunch at the Ridge Club

Our friends invited us to a delicious brunch at the Ridge Club.  The food was wonderful--Braeden declared his ham and cheese omelet the best he's ever had, the Easter Bunny was there and delivering cookies along with hugs, and there was a face painter.  Everyone under the age of 12 got their face painted sometimes their whole face!

We were lucky to be given such a wonderful treat!

Happy Easter

The Easter Bunny visited our house last night.  He left eggs, some with chocolate and some with coins hidden all around the living room and a few baskets.
Braeden found some Pokemon cards as well as some books in his basket.
Teagan found some books and High School Musical 3 in her basket.
Lily got a special live Easter basket grown by the middle school kids.
With the added treats, she thought it was the best holiday ever!

Easter Egg Hunt at the Farm

HUnting for Easter Eggs at Coonamessett Farm is one of our favorite activities.  These days the Middle School (soon to become the Cape Cod Montessori School as we are planning to add high school next year) helps Farmer Ron put on the event .It was pouring rain all day, so there was not much activity when we got there.  Braeden and Teagan put up their hoods and went out to the blueberry patch to find eggs and were successful.  They got extra special attention when they came in--including cookies the middle school girls had decorated for them.
Kristen added a special touch to Teagan's hair style.

Coloring Easter Eggs

We had today off from school and used part of it to decorate Easter Eggs.  We also were lucky enough to have an impromptu play date with our friends Taylor and Liam at the BWB playground and a piano lesson for Teagan which all of us were able to attend!  It was a full and fun day--not just Good Friday, but a great Friday!
