Talent Show

We had a talent show at school.  Any talent can be presented.  Braeden participated in a skit and told jokes with two of his friends.  If I can load those videos I will post them.  One of t he most talked about talents was a friend who stood still for two minutes!  Teagan was in awe and has been trying to perform the same feat since then--she has gotten to 1 minute.
Teagan and her friend Emma decided to play a duet since they both know Twinkle, twinkle.  They learned the song in different keys, but that didn't bother them.  They planned and practiced themselves and were very proud when they performed!

Recorder concerts

The Carriage House gave a recorder concert for the students at Children's House this morning.

Teagan takes a tumble

AFter the boat launch we had a board meeting.  It was nice and warm out so the kids were playing with water.  When a soaking wet Teagan came up the brick steps she fell creating a small but deep cut in her leg.  It looked quite deep so we went to the ER.  There it turned out she had taken a little bit of Susan's brick with her and it was good to get that out.  We avoided stitches by using some steri strips.
Teagan was wet and shivering in the overly air conditioned hospital, so they gave her a little hospital outfit to wear.

Boat launch

Jeff and his kids at school launched the boat they made--a Peace Canoe this year.

Piano recital

Teagan's second piano recital.  She still loves it and is looking forward to adding violin in September!  She will continue piano at Geraldine's house over the summer.  She loves the chance to go over there--Geraldine has two pianos and plays along with Teagan.  Braeden doesn't even mind going because she has good magazines and lots of them.

Braeden gets CTY High Honors Award

Braeden was award a High Honors certificate from the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth program.  A very small percentage of people have the opportunity for this, so we are very proud of him!
Waiting for the presentation to start.
Getting his award.
With his award just before the juice and cookies were served.

Since we went to Boston University for the ceremony, Braeden got to decide how we spent the rest of the day.  He chose...
lunch at Friendly's (at the Hanover Mall) and
seeing Night at the Museum 2.  We all had fun.
