Surprise, the tooth fairy is coming!

I took Braeden in to have some repair work done today and it became more than we expected. Last week our regular dental check up showed a cracked filling in one of Braeden's teeth. We made an appointment to have it fixed in March. The next night regular flossing pulled out what we thought was a piece of filling. By Monday the tooth was really bothering him, so we asked to come in Tuesday afternoon. It turned out that "filling" had been tooth he knocked loose! There were two things that could be done...a root canal and crown on this tooth he is expected to lose later this year, or pull the tooth. Braeden and I opted for the hole in his mouth.

He was very brave as always, even though it was painful. The hole is kind of cool and easier to deal with than the sore tooth!

Swim Meet with New Bedford

It was a busy day with this home meet (Mom was there at 11:30 to work in the consession stand) and the play in the evening. We were especially glad that Meeps was able to join us for the weekend and this crazy day. All of us were able to see all three of Braeden's races (he also swam a 50 backstroke). We are so close that we came home in between his relay and his first individual swim and Meeps and Teagan made a cake for my birthday.

Of Mice and Mozart

Braeden and Teagan were in Of Mice and Mozart tonight. They both did a fabulous job! They had many songs to learn as well as their lines and movements to go with the lines. Braeden was Papa Mozart and the older Mozart, Teagan was a speaking mouse.

New Year's Eve

The beach with friends is a great way to spend the last day of 2009. We packed a bit and worked on our palm tree puzzle, then went down to the beach to meet Sarah, Uwe, and Lila. The crazy kids even dipped into the Gulf then stuck around for a little building in the sand.

After some time in the pool we went to Sarah and Uwe's for a New Year's dinner of roasted veggies with pasta. Yum! What a fun way to end the year!

Fun on Siesta Key

We had a great day swimming and playing on the beach. The Santoros came over for dinner. Before dinner we went out to watch the sun set and take some pictures.

Sarah and I went to lunch together rather than exchanging gifts .It was so nice to have some time together without kids and/or cooking. We actually got to complete sentences!

Teagan had a great time baby sitting Lila. Sarah brought her over to the apartment and we went out in the village. We went to a yummy restaurant called Sun Garden Cafe.

Braeden gets glasses!

Braeden got glasses for distance today. I thought he wouldn't actually walk out of the appointment with them, but that is almost what we did! We did have dinner while we waited for them, but that was much faster than I expected.
