Races at the Beach

Today we went to Kalmus Beach for inter-beach races. All the kids who take swim lessons are invited to compete. The points are then tallied for the winner of the Barnstable Beach Cup. This year the winner was Wequaket--the first time in at least 30 years! Braeden was a big part of that with two first place finishes and a second place finish in the three races he swam. Teagan had a great time and had so much fun with her instructors and friends at a new beach. At Kalmus you can see Hyannis Harbor with beautiful boats in the water and ferries departing and returning. It was a bit tricky getting there since streets were shut down for Eunice Kennedy Shriver's funeral service, but we made it. And you can't blame all the people whose lives she touched for wanting to say thank you and good bye.
