Last Day of Children's House

Today was Teagan's last day at Children's House.  It has been the only school she has ever known and she has had such a wonderful experience there.  I can't believe how she has grown up--she started as a 2 1/2 year old who could definitely hold her own there, but was the baby.  That first year she was so lucky to have wonderful teachers and even substitute teachers who would cuddle her on their lap.  Even her second year she was the smallest child there and sometimes people used the dreaded baby word.  This year (her fourth year), she has been working solidly in math, practicing the concepts of addition, multiplication, and subtraction, and even remembering some of her math facts.  She has been working with a phonics workbook and has moved from the phonics readers to the "basket books" where she continues to show steady progress.  On the playground she was the girl everyone wanted to play with, and happily, she seemed to encourage everyone to play.

She will miss Children's House next year, although she be there for before care, and we feel fairly comfortable with her teacher next year.  She is excited about the move, her only concern is should she call me Mommy or Cheryl in the classroom.
